Downs House, Bristol

Our brief was to create a modern, open-plan new build house that connected to the garden and provided views of the Downs beyond.

Externally it was important that the building formed the transition between the run of 1½ storey 20th century houses to one side and the much grander two storey Victorian building to the other.

Internally, the spaces flow together, and the clean modern interior provides a backdrop for the pieces of furniture that the client had gathered over time
