SEMI DETACHED - MID CENTURY - EXTENSION

Hill House, Bristol

Raised wrap around extension with terrace

The unique topography of the site presented the opportunity to create an extension which floated above the garden.

Moon created a contemporary extension to link a new kitchen with the existing dining space, and provide large areas of glazing to create greater visual connections with the rear garden and maximising natural light levels.

The addition of a raised terrace created a new external space that could be accessed on a level with the interior, something which was missing from the existing house due to the steeply sloping site. The terrace also provided rear access to the garage which was reduced from a double to a single and converted to create a much-needed ground floor utility space.
